KAREN FARRELL Principal

Karen Farrell has over 17 years experience in the communications industries and specialises in the entertainment field.
She established Strut PR & Events (formerly KFP) in 2003 and has gained an impressive list of diverse clients ranging from corporate to entertainment to advertising agencies and individual artists.
Karen specialises in profile management for prominent identities, celebrities and professionals and has worked with a multitude of individuals in the image-making arena.
For five years Karen worked for the Nine Network where she initially developed a love of writing as the Network’s program writer. Karen launched her career in PR by first co-coordinating the radio publicity for the 60 Minutes team which included Jana Wendt.
Karen has also been a Senior Publicist for Network Ten, where she was responsible for monitoring the daily fluctuations of Ten's reactive News Bureau while personally managing the profiles of Sandra Sully, Tracey Spicer, Matthew White, Tim Webster and Paul Bongiorno (Meet the Press).
During her time at Network Ten, Karen also managed the Sports portfolio, creating strategies for major sporting events including the Melbourne Cup, Sydney to Hobart, the PGA Golf and V8 Supercars. Karen was responsible for managing the Network publicity requirements of Mark Scaife, Craig Lowndes and the late motorcycling legend Barry Sheene.
Karen was head-hunted from Network Ten by ABC TV. As a Senior Publicist at ABC TV Karen publicised the News and Current Affairs portfolio (including Lateline, The World Today and the 7pm News) plus managed the profiles of all of the on-air news presenters including Tony Jones and Richard Morecroft.
Karen’s cross-industry experience means she can tailor practical solutions to meet the specific challenges of a wide range of clients.
She is particularly pleased with the diverse array of clients who have utilised Strut PR & Events expertise.
